Aaron L. Miller, PhD is an American who has been actively involved in the study of sports and education in Japan and the US for over a decade. His interests are currently focused on study of sports coaching and educational discipline, especially as they relate to the cultures of the United States and Japan. He has published many articles and book chapters regarding these themes, his first book was published by the Institute of East Asian Studies, UC Berkeley in 2013, and he has a distinguished record of public speaking appearances. Aaron has also consulted for various Japanese and American companies and governmental organizations, including Japan’s Ministry of Education, Tesla Motors, Inc. and Japan’s Olympic Committee. Currently, he teaches courses in sports history, sports sociology/anthropology, sports film, sports and social justice, and sports philosophy at the California State University, East Bay.
